About Tess
I am a vocal tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and 5 years of teaching experience. I specialise in jazz and blues improvisation, including scat singing, melodic embellishments, and advanced harmony techniques. Lessons help students develop a distinctive improvisational style. Ear training, scale and chord theory, and practical exercises connect musical knowledge to vocal performance. I work with singers at every level, emphasising healthy technique and expressive interpretation. Improvisation is approached with creativity and guidance, allowing students to experiment freely. I focus on building confidence, musical awareness, and performance readiness. Lessons strike a balance between technical skill, theory, and artistry.
