About Chelsea

I’m taking some time off work after a long stretch doing long hours in government during the pandemic. I’m keen to spend more time helping the next generation of students realize their dreams.

I’m also a mom! (my kids are adults now).

I enjoy supporting the next generation of public (and private) lawyers to be inspired by their chosen profession.

About the lesson

I’m an experienced and responsive tutor, teacher, lecturer and mentor.

Most of my career has involved making complicated legal issues easy for people to understand. I have particular experience working with people with neurodivergence, mental health struggles and disability.

I tailor my teaching tools for each student’s needs, and encourage students to embrace their strengths.

I speak Australian Signed English. My AUSLAN is a bit more limited, but I can learn it quickly.

I also speak French (although I’m a bit rusty these days).

I use a range of techniques to assist students to understand legal concepts in depth, which they can carry through life. These include using metaphors or comparative examples, designing real life legal problems, engaging in role play interviews or moots, or just creating a space for quiet supported reading. I can also help design useful exam notes and study plans.
