About Gianfilippo

Gianfilippo Spadaro is a young composer and singer-songwriter born in 1997, born and raised in Rome.
Actually he teaches music for cinema and theater in Civitavecchia, near Rome.
A historic member as a baritone of the renowned “Corale Novarmonia” of Rome and founder of the pop-acoustic duo “Tally-Ho Music”, since 2017 he has studied Classical Composition and Film Music with maestro Gianluca Podio (former arranger and keyboardist of Ennio Morricone, Pino Daniele and Renato Zero) at the Saint Louis College of Music Conservatory in Rome. In 2019 he received a plaque of merit from Mogol (lyricist of Lucio Battisti) as part of the “Premio Internazionale CET Scuola Autori di Mogol” competition for the lyrics of “Il Tenebroso Canzonatore”, a song he wrote and performed, published in 2020 by Aletti Editore within a dedicated Anthology. His main experiences include a finalist placement in the RAI musical competition “Dallo Stornello al Rap (2018)”, three concerts (two of which as conductor and one as singer) at the Petrassi Hall of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and numerous official recordings with the Novarmonia Choir, including the complete Mass in G minor by Charles Gounod for Organ and Choir from 1888. He has also collaborated for several years with the female string quartet “Sharareh” as a composer and author of original pieces, and in the past he collaborated with the famous female folk-Celtic group “Green Clouds” as a composer and arranger. He also tries his hand at music for the theatre, achieving excellent results with “Acquatica” (written and directed by Enrico Maria Falconi), and with the writing of both theatrical and cinematographic screenplays, for which he recently obtained a diploma. He recently worked as a musical consultant, assistant director and actor in the comedy “Non tutti i ladri vengono per nuocere” by Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo, which sold out at the “Nuovo Sala Gassman” theater in Civitavecchia. In May 2024 he brought “La voce di Giona” to the stage in the same theater, his first theatrical show entirely written and directed by him, with music by Mozart and a ten-year-old boy as the protagonist: after the success obtained, he won the "Premio Nuovo Sala Gassman - Creatività teatrale" for Best theatrical text.

Each lesson is divided into a theoretical part (first half) and a practical part (second half), and the student begins from the first meeting to PRACTICALLY APPLY what he learns, with examples and exercises ad hoc guided and increasingly advanced ... because the real secret to making music is precisely to try and fail, guided by someone who has already been there! (incidentally, this is exactly how the rules of Western musical harmony were born that we will explore together). My lessons are aimed at everyone (children, teenagers and adults), and the starting point of the course is agreed with each individual student based on his previous knowledge and personal needs (study for passion, to prepare for admission to the Conservatory, to study a single subject in depth, etc ...). The final goal of the course, in any case, is to leave all students, amateurs or professionals, the skills to be able to create their own music or to access Conservatories and private music schools where they can continue their studies.
