About Lucy
I'm Lucy and I'm from London but am now living in Italy, working as a teacher. Teaching is the only job I've had where I am really excited to go to work, I really love it! I've always been passionate about literature, so teaching literature has been a dream of mine from a young age.

I have been teaching for five years now, and I am able to adapt the lesson to suit the needs of the student - we will work together to find the best way for us to learn together, and this requires cooperation! However, I always like to make my lessons as fun and engaging as possible - if you have fun whilst studying it doesn't actually feel like studying! Further, my lessons will tend to be student-centred, as you are here to improve your studies, so it's important for you to exercise your skills as much as possible!
Typically I prefer to do either an hour or an hour and a half lesson with a student once or twice a week.
I studied English literature and language at The University of Nottingham and graduated in 2016. Since leaving university I have tutored literature students privately and also taught English Language. For the past four years I have been teaching English in Italy, not only Language as a "madre lingua" (mother tongue) teacher, but also English literature including names such as Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Wilde and Chaucer, to name a few.
I am also beginning a PGDE to teach English Literature and Language in secondary schools in the U.K. in 2022, so I completely understand the new A-level and GCSE syllabus.
