About Lauren
Hi, I'm Lauren, a working singer and voice coach with a bachelor’s degree in music and Lyric Theater from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. In my singing education I received crossover voice training, meaning that I have significant experience studying classical, legit singing as well as jazz, contemporary, and musical theatre voice. In my teaching I use an understanding of vocal anatomy and various technique methods to help my students reach their vocal goals. I love studying voice science and am committed to learning alongside my students to better assist you in discovering new aspects of your voice and expand your toolbox of vocal choices, capabilities, and confidence!

Voice Lessons for adults with all levels of experience – Classical, Musical Theatre, Pop, and Rock.
In your hour-long voice session, we usually begin with 15-25 minutes of somatic stretching, voice warm-up, and technique exercises tailored to your individual vocal goals and repertoire choices. This time is often used to develop proper vowel formation and shape, voice placements, register shifts (chest, mix, and head voice), breathing technique, and supported healthy singing.
The remainder of the session will be spent working on 1-2 songs of your choosing or occasionally a piece by my recommendation to keep us striving towards your voice goals.
I think singing and music are some of the closest things we get to magic in this world, and I would love to help you find and develop your voice. Whether you are looking to audition in the professional world or just become more confident in your voice at karaoke my lessons are for you!
