About Leen

I completed my Master's degree in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich.

I teach calmly and clearly, enjoy explaining even difficult topics in simple, comprehensible steps, and am genuinely delighted when someone "gets the hang of it" and suddenly understands what was previously just confusing.

I provide targeted support to university students (Bachelor's and Master's) as well as high school students preparing for exams.

University-level courses include: analysis, algebra, numerical analysis, probability/stochastics, differential equations, statistics, and optimization.

High school students primarily cover analysis, vector geometry, and stochastics.

At the beginning, we clarify the learning objective, exam date, and current level. From this, a clear learning plan with realistic milestones leading up to the exam is developed.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in mathematics began during school and became much stronger during my university studies. I enjoyed seeing how complex problems become manageable when they are divided into clear, logical steps. I later completed my Master’s degree in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich.
My interest in tutoring developed when I realized how rewarding it is to explain a difficult idea in a way that finally makes sense to someone. That moment when a student suddenly understands is still one of my favorite parts of teaching.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach.

I teach mathematics, statistics, and mathematically oriented physics to high school and university students.
At university level, I support students in analysis, algebra, numerical analysis, probability, differential equations, statistics, and optimization. For high school students, I mainly teach analysis, vector geometry, and stochastics.
I especially enjoy topics where students can understand the reasoning behind the method instead of simply memorizing formulas.
  • Did you have any role models or teachers who inspired you?

I was inspired by teachers and lecturers who could explain difficult ideas clearly without oversimplifying them. They showed not only how to solve a problem, but also how to think about it.
Their patience, structure, and respect for students’ questions strongly influenced my own teaching style.
  • What qualities are required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs strong subject knowledge, patience, clarity, and the ability to adapt to the student.
It is important to identify the exact point where the student is struggling, explain the idea in manageable steps, and create an atmosphere where questions are always welcome.
A good tutor should also be organized and honest, especially when helping students prepare for exams.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or school days.

One lesson I learned is that many students who believe they are “bad at mathematics” are not lacking ability. They often have small gaps in their foundations that were never properly addressed.
Once those gaps are identified and explained calmly, their progress can be surprisingly fast. This is something I have seen many times in tutoring.
  • What difficulties or challenges did you face in your subject?

One of the biggest challenges in mathematics is moving from memorizing procedures to truly understanding concepts.
At university, mathematics becomes more abstract and requires precise definitions, proofs, and independent problem-solving. I learned that the best way to overcome this is to return to the basics, work through examples, and understand why each method works.
  • Do you have a particular passion?

My main passion is making difficult topics clear and accessible without losing their mathematical precision.
I enjoy finding the right explanation, example, or visual approach for each student. I am also interested in how mathematics is used in statistics, numerical methods, differential equations, and optimization.
  • What makes you a Superprof?

I combine strong mathematical knowledge with calm, structured, and student-focused teaching.
At the beginning, I clarify the student’s level, learning goals, and exam date. Based on this, we create a realistic learning plan with clear milestones.
During the lessons, I explain everything step by step and focus on helping students become more confident and independent, not only on showing them the final solution.
