About Matheus
My methodology is based on my life journey. As I was out of Brazil for 7 years, I interacted with people from all over the world. Therefore, I acquired flexibility and understanding from several different perspectives. My college, Erasmus University is very connected to the academic world, so I have always produced several articles and also conducted research. With this experience, I always look for suitable content for classes, sometimes I translate from English to Portuguese (because, unfortunately, most of the contents of Psychology and Philosophy are in English). In general, my method is to adapt to the student's needs. But I can say that I follow the Socratic dialogue a lot, where I take the person to a reflection and then a discovery of their own values. My classes are like this, I don't want to tell you what I think is better or worse, right or wrong, I want you to come to your own conclusions. My personality also affects the method, I am calm, patient and try to understand the other person before I assert myself. So, you will have plenty of space to speak during classes and if you get confused on a certain subject, I will be very patient. I can teach Philosophy and Psychology to help you prepare for an entrance exam or contest but ultimately my focus is on your training as an individual.

Hello people! I'm Professor Matheus. I will talk a little about myself. Brazil has always been and will always be my home, but my personal and academic training took place practically outside Brazil. I finished my high school in the United States. I returned to Brazil and taught English at a language school for a year. Then I went to Holland, where I graduated in Psychology and Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I specialized in psychology education. Since then I realized that my life mission is in the educational environment, which I dedicate my routine today. I am interested in different areas such as meditative practices (yoga, meditation, tai chi), study several different philosophies such as Taoism, Buddhism, Spiritism, contemporary philosophy (in Brazil I follow Cortella, Karnal and Coen nun a lot), Stoicism, Hermeticism, Shamanism , among several others. I participate in projects with an environmental nature, doing research and setting up classes in the area. I can help you in several ways, such as: 1. Commented reading (study) of philosophical works 2. Creation of personalized studies (educational psychology techniques). 3. Process of self-knowledge through conversation, reading, self-analysis and reflection. 4. Writing and textual construction for papers, TCC's and articles. 5. Study of History of philosophy or development of a personal philosophy. 6. Psychological study of human beings, mental tendencies and behaviors. There are several ways in which I can help you, above are just a few. My classes are always flexible and depend on each student. We can have a conversation to clarify any other matter.
