About Leticia
Hi! I’m Leticia, a recent graduate from UC Davis with a degree in statistics, but my relationship with math wasn’t always easy. As a child, math was one of my least favorite subjects—it felt confusing and frustrating. It wasn’t until high school, when I had a teacher who made math click, that I started seeing it in a new light. I began to enjoy the problem-solving aspect and the sense of accomplishment that came with understanding complex concepts.
That shift inspired me to pursue statistics in college, where I developed a passion for not only learning but also helping others overcome their struggles with math. I know firsthand how challenging math can be, but I also know that with the right guidance, anyone can master it. My goal as a tutor is to help students build their confidence in math, just as I did, and show them that math can be fun and rewarding.

As a recent graduate in statistics from UC Davis, I bring a strong foundation in math and analytical thinking to my tutoring sessions. My teaching approach is student-centered, meaning I tailor each lesson to fit the unique needs and learning styles of my students, whether they're in elementary school or preparing for high school exams.
I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts before moving on to more advanced topics, ensuring that students have the confidence to tackle increasingly complex problems. I use real-world examples to make abstract concepts more relatable and break down difficult topics into manageable steps.
In our sessions, students can expect a supportive and engaging environment where questions are encouraged, and mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. I also incorporate interactive exercises, practice problems, and periodic assessments to track progress and adjust the learning plan as needed.
My goal is to help students not just improve their grades but also develop a love for learning and a problem-solving mindset that will serve them well in all areas of life.
