About Kianja

I am a professional singer/songwriter and musician seasoned in Jazz, Soul and Pop music. I have an honours degree in vocal Jazz. I've collaborated with a variety of musicians including Bastille (Pop), The Wombats ( Indie Pop), Omar Lyefook (Soul), Jamie Lidell (Soul) and many more. Venues I've played at include: Ronnie Scotts, Royal Festival Hall, Nile Rodgers Meltdown Festival. I use my versatility and experience to offer classes catered to the student. After teaching a wide range of students over the past 3/4 years, I can confidently say that they improve after every class. I am in the music industry, building my solo career as a singer/songwriter and it brings me great pleasure to pass on knowledge along the way.

About the lesson

In terms of my teaching method, the most important part is understanding what the student wants to achieve and what they enjoy doing. Once that is clear I will cater my lessons and material for the student. What I offer in classes include: vocal technique, vocal style, breathing, microphone technique, vocal improvisation, phrasing, stage presence, confidence, how to learn songs, industry advice. Let me know what you need most and I'll cater to it.

Perfect! I cannot rate Kianja as a singing teacher highly enough! She is warm, encouraging and relaxed. She creates a supportive learning environment and her approach has helped to reduce the nerves and pressure I used to feel when singing. Kianja is also thoughtful in how she plans her lessons and ensures that what we work on is tailored to me. I'm so glad I found her!
