About Ashley
Picture yourself sitting down with a song request you have loved for ages, only for us to turn it into a custom arrangement that fits your current skill level perfectly. We start by looking at your favorite tracks and breaking them down into manageable electric or acoustic techniques that you can actually use. My background from the Musicians Institute Hollywood helps me explain everything from basic blues progressions to complex soloing without using confusing jargon. We will touch on tuning and maintenance or power chords to make sure your gear sounds great every single time you pick it up.
You might spend a moment focusing on reading tabs so you can visualize the fretboard more clearly. I make sure we leave plenty of space to troubleshoot those pesky chord transitions that feel impossible at first. Many students find that turning a hit song into an original version is the most satisfying part of our time together.
We keep things lighthearted while making sure you walk away with a clear goal for the week ahead. It feels like hanging out with a friend who just happens to know exactly how to make your guitar sing. Getting better at this instrument should feel like a reward rather than a chore.

Holding a Diploma in Guitar from the Musicians Institute Hollywood, I often wonder why so many players feel stuck playing the same three shapes for years. My teaching career started 8 years ago as a small side project, but it quickly became the highlight of my schedule.
I focus on helping teens and performance-minded students build a real foundation rather than just memorizing patterns. Having spent 21 years gigging across the Bay Area in blues and rock bands, I understand the grit needed to play live. Most of my students come to me because they want to write their own music instead of just copying others.
I have coached hundreds of people to move past those frustrating walls. Playing guitar is simply the best way to spend your time.
