About Ali

I believe that creating a good understanding of what students enjoy listening to is most important. Personally, I enjoy playing songs from a range of bands and singers including: - Radiohead - Big Thief - Pink Floyd - Alice in Chains - Leon Bridges - etc. I enjoy: - fingerpicking styles and patterns - percussive tricks on guitar - creating my own chord progressions

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Ali, I have been playing guitar for 4 years now and it is one of my biggest passions. I am most suited to teach beginner/ intermediate players. I can teach chords, fingerpicking and a wide range of different styles, techniques and tips and tricks. I can also show 'students' how to play through songs THEY want to learn as I think it is very important to focus on relevant genres and styles to the individual. Tutoring sessions typically 1 hour weekly or fortnightly, I can travel or take online students.

Perfect! Ali was the best teacher for me, and I’m sure anyone looking for a tutor will enjoy playing guitar more than ever with her. She created a comfortable and supportive environment during lessons. Even though English is my second language and I sometimes struggled to express myself, she guided me patiently and kindly. I wanted to learn blues songs, and she taught me through beautiful pieces. I could feel how thoughtfully she chose each song to keep the lessons engaging and never boring. That is why I highly recommend Ali to you as a fantastic tutor! :D
