About Shane
I am 25 years old living in Aurora near the medical school. I received my bachelors degree in Mathematics from Trinity University and MS in Statistics from CU Denver. Currently, I am a PhD student studying the epidemiology of autoimmunity.

I have experience working with children as a guest educator for middle and high school age children. I have also taken many education courses during my undergraduate degree about child development and learners with exceptionalities. I have volunteered my time to teaching children on the Autism Spectrum as well as mentoring incarcerated individuals in their mathematical rehabilitative journey. I am comfortable teaching any level of mathematics as well as early college and lower for the natural sciences. My lessons will amplify and complement the teaching that occurs in the student's classroom as well as prepare them for the next level. I get at the root of the mathematical issues and gaps in understanding and love the challenge of getting at that root. My goal is to build mathematical confidence and prove that it is never too late to build a strong STEM foundation.

Shane is a great tutor! Very patience and willing to explain things in different ways to help make math more understandable. Uses examples and problems to ensure that the lessons are effective and overall is a great help!
After not doing so well in a few math courses, I decided to reach out for help and came across Mr. Shane. He worked with my one-on-one, didn’t make me feel dumb or anything like that, and met me at the skill set I was at. Without his help, I doubt I would be able to do the types of classes I do today.
