About Martha
Hello, I’m Martha! English is one of my favorite subjects, and I’m excited about the opportunity to teach it to students who are new to the language. I’ve had some experience helping family and friends prepare for kindergarten by teaching them basic skills to give them a strong start and make it easier for them to understand material in school. I look forward to making learning English a fun and rewarding journey!

Reading can be challenging, but my goal is to guide students with a patient, step-by-step approach.
We'll begin with the basics, focusing on vowels and phonemes as our first lesson. This foundation will help students identify words and begin reading, rather than relying on memorization.
For students who can decode words but struggle with comprehension, we’ll take things slowly. We'll break down each sentence and reread it out loud to reinforce understanding. We will also be able to decipher the main idea and the lesson of the story. This method helps students internalize what they’re reading and build confidence.
These lessons are designed for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade who may have difficulty with reading or grasping the English language. With consistent practice and support, every student can make meaningful progress.
