About Gerardo

My name is Gerardo Ortega, and I am a 16-year-old high school student in the SoCal area. I am deeply interested in neuroscience, and I aspire to become a neurologist. I challenge myself every day at school by taking AP classes and getting involved in extracurricular activities outside of school as well. I have participated in different internships, including one at the Levitt Lab at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Bringing these experiences together, I will be able to effectively teach you and make sure you meet your goals.

About the lesson

For my approach, I believe in practice and review. This means students first learn about the topic and ask any questions they have. Then we do some practice questions with varying challenge levels. Finally, we review the answers together, determine where the student went wrong, and directly target those weaknesses. These lessons are for middle schoolers through freshmen in high school who are struggling with mathematics.
