About Harrison
Hello!! Harrison, an undergraduate @ UPenn. I help students approach the college app process with structure, clarity, and confidence. Having been accepted to UPenn, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Michigan, USC, UNC, Georgetown, UCSD, UCI, and UW, I understand how to build a strong academic and personal narrative. My goal is to help students present their experiences authentically, strengthen their essays, and develop a more competitive application. I've helped students get into: UPenn, Oxford, NYU Stern, Carnegie Mellon Tepper, UMich, and UW Allen

My tutoring style is structured, personal, and driven by the strategy that I've learned throughout years of experience helping students get into top schools. I focus on helping students understand not just what to write or study, but why certain choices make their application, essay, or test strategy stronger.
For college applications, I help students build a clear narrative around their existing experiences. My method starts with understanding the student’s background, activities, interests, and goals. From there, I help them identify their strongest themes, refine their essays, improve their activity descriptions. For SAT tutoring, I focus on diagnosing weaknesses in specific topic sectors, teaching repeatable problem-solving strategies, and building consistent practice habits.
There is no "typical lesson" plan. It all depends on what my student wants. However, if my student simply wants a college app check + directions for next step, then we would start with a short check-in on the student’s current progress and goals. Next, we review specific materials such as essays, activity lists, practice questions, or school lists. I explain what is working, what needs improvement, and how to revise or approach the next step. Each session ends with clear action items so the student knows exactly what to work on before the next meeting.
