About Taylor
I have always loved mathematics, even as a child, and have a deep desire to help others see that math doesn't need to be scary. I've worked for over 10 years as a math tutor in college and beyond, and have developed tools and tricks for teaching topics to many types of students. While I try to provide some flexibility and accommodation for various needs, especially based on the ages of my students, I do expect dedication to diligence, and a willingness to put in the effort to learn the material instead of just being spoon-fed answers.

I primarily seek to teach an understanding of the fundamentals of the relevant course, rather than just presenting a few formulae or shortcuts to use. I work with my students to find methods that will help them learn more effectively, and frequently use mnemonics and visualisations that make concepts more relatable to the average student. I work best with students who have strong imaginations and who are willing to put in the work to understand not only what the rules of a topic are, but also how to manipulate those rules and make them work for what they need, so that they can solve unfamiliar problems through careful analysis and critical thinking. I prefer to work with high school or college students, but can work with as young as 6th grade students.
