About Nikki
I’m a credentialed high school English teacher in California with a Master’s in Education and a JD. I help students feel more confident with reading and writing, especially when those subjects feel confusing or stressful.
My tutoring style is supportive and very step-by-step. I like to work through things with students instead of just explaining them at them. We’ll break down essays, reading assignments, or classwork together so it actually feels manageable and makes sense.
Most of my experience is with middle school, high school, and AP English students. I especially enjoy working with students who feel like they’re “not good at writing” or who just need things explained in a clearer, simpler way.
My goal is to make English feel less overwhelming and more doable, and to help students feel more confident in what they’re already capable of.

I’m a credentialed high school English teacher with a Master’s in Education and a Juris Doctorate. I specialize in helping students feel more confident and capable in reading and writing, especially when those subjects feel overwhelming.
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and very hands-on. I don’t just tell students what to fix. I walk them through how to think through reading passages, build strong essays, and organize their ideas clearly. We work together in real time so students can actually see how strong writing is built.
A typical session includes a quick check-in, focused skill practice (like essay structure or reading strategies), guided work on assignments, and clear next steps so students know exactly what to work on before our next meeting.
I work best with middle school, high school, and AP-level students, especially those needing support with writing, reading comprehension, essays, and college prep. I also help students build confidence, not just improve grades.
What sets me apart is my mix of classroom experience and coaching background. I’m used to working with students one-on-one and in groups, and I bring a patient, approachable style that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace.
