About Arthur

About Me

Hello! My name is Arthur Viola, and I am an educator, historian, and doctoral researcher with a passion for helping students achieve academic success and develop confidence in their abilities.

I hold a Master of Arts in History from Rhode Island College and a Master of Arts in Egyptology from the University of Memphis. I am currently pursuing doctoral studies in Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology at Lipscomb University. My academic training has provided me with extensive experience in historical research, academic writing, critical thinking, source analysis, and effective communication.

In addition to my academic background, I have classroom teaching experience and extensive experience working with students in middle and high school settings. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed helping students overcome academic challenges, improve their understanding of complex subjects, and develop the skills necessary for long-term success.

My areas of expertise include History, Social Studies, Writing, Research Methods, Study Skills, Geography, and College Essay Preparation. I am particularly passionate about helping students understand not only what happened in history, but why it happened and how historical events continue to shape the world today.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every student is capable of success when instruction is clear, engaging, and tailored to their individual needs. Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they have not yet found a learning approach that works for them.

My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their abilities. I strive to explain concepts in a clear and practical manner while encouraging critical thinking and independent learning.

Rather than focusing solely on memorization, I help students develop a deeper understanding of the material. Whether we are studying history, improving writing skills, preparing for an exam, or working on a research project, I emphasize comprehension, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
