About Anil
Hello, my name is Mr Ahmed and I am a passionate mathematics teacher and tutor who enjoys helping students grow in confidence and achieve their potential. I want to teach because I enjoy making a positive difference in young people’s lives and helping students realise that maths is something they can succeed in.
I understand that many students can find maths difficult or overwhelming at times, so I aim to create a supportive, calm, and encouraging learning environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to help students not only improve academically, but also become more confident, resilient, and independent learners.

My personal approach to private tutoring focuses on building confidence, creating positive relationships, and adapting learning to suit each student’s individual needs. I believe every child can succeed when they feel supported, challenged appropriately, and comfortable asking questions.
I aim to create engaging and supportive sessions where students feel safe to make mistakes and develop confidence in their abilities. I use personalised teaching methods, including step-by-step modelling, visual explanations, retrieval practice, and scaffolded support, particularly for students with SEND or gaps in prior knowledge.
I also encourage students to explain their thinking and use mathematical vocabulary confidently, helping them develop a deeper understanding rather than simply memorising methods. Ultimately, my goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students become more independent and confident learners.
