About Soutrik

I tailor my experiences to the specific exam board and tier of examination (higher and foundation) that each student is undertaking and work to ensure they can understand how to pass those exams. I like to work holistically with maths, biology, chemistry and physics as these four core subjects may interconnect with each other - so teaching one topic could help in aiding another. I have a BSc. in biomedical science. I have an MSc. in cancer biology and therapeutics, I have a PGCE in Chemistry, I have worked in COVID labs, I have taught in schools, I have worked with students and adults to transfer a passion about science and the world.

About the lesson

I have an extensive knowledge of biological statistics and algebraic calculations at a degree level. I am calm, and logical when it comes to teaching and I like to work with the student when it comes to problems that they have. I am not hesitant to call students out when they aren't focusing on their work. But I prefer to reward good behaviour than reprimand the bad. I have tutored students in the past, both in class as a group and one-on-one and have been tutoring full time for a year now. I prefer online one-on-one, because it allows for a more tailored experience. Lessons are 1 hour long. I am comfortable teaching any exam board when it comes to Maths as the past papers are absolutely clear on the answers, so I will reverse engineer the teaching courses with the past papers.

I had this tutor for 2 years, his methods are great and he gets you to work on your weaknesses while also promoting your strengths.

Rik tutored me for approximately 6 months before my GCSE exams, our lessons being on triple science and maths, and I found that with his help I was able to have a great understanding of the concepts needed and they helped me a lot in my exams.
