About Mehrnoosh (May)

Hi! I'm Mehrnoosh, but you can call me May. I'm a full-time IELTS tutor with a CELTA Certificate from Cambridge University and a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. I have taught over 2300 online sessions, and helped hundreds of students get their desired scores on the IELTS test. Hope to see you in class! :) A few notes to consider: - In order to start the IELTS classes, you need to have at least a fundamental understanding of the English language, which I will assess during our free trial session. - In order to take the IELTS course, you need to be prepared and have enough time outside of the class to complete your homework assignments. These assignments are a crucial part of the learning process, and cannot be neglected. - The timeline for reaching each band score depends on many factors including your current level, the amount of studying and practice you are able to do each week, and your individual learning style and pace.

About the lesson

My IELTS lessons are catered to your needs and the class materials and approach depend on your English level and the band score you wish to reach. DURING THE TRIAL: I will assess your general English level and if your level meets the threshold for formal IELTS sessions, I will guide you to take a full IELTS mock test before the start of the course. This will give us a more accurate image of your level and the areas that require the most work. :) DURING LESSONS: Depending on your needs, we will learn about the test format, different question types and the best ways to tackle them, and last but not least, we will work through real questions from all four skills, with an emphasis on speaking and writing. Through comprehensive practice and feedback, we will improve each skill together to reach your desired score. :) AFTER THE LESSONS: As an IELTS candidate, you will need to put in the necessary time and effort into homework assignments and self-study in order to reach your desired band score. You will receive thorough feedback on your homework once a week, and be guided through editing and resubmitting your assignments. :)

Mehrnoosh is an excellent English speaker and tutor. A lot of the times she’s mistaken as a native English speaker when we travel abroad since she speaks English so fluently. She is also so patient with her students and genuinely enjoys learning about their cultures. She likes to stay up to date in teaching methods so she is always learning about ESL through different courses and books, which I find very admirable.
