About Viraj

I am a Computer Science graduate from IIT Guwahati with a strong academic background in mathematics and analytical problem solving. I have consistently ranked among the top students in competitive exams in India, which required deep mathematical understanding and logical reasoning.

My approach to teaching focuses on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorizing formulas. I enjoy breaking down complex problems into simple, intuitive steps so that students can build confidence and solve new problems independently.

With my background in mathematics, computer science, and competitive problem solving, I aim to help students strengthen their logical thinking and develop a clear, structured approach to tackling challenging math questions. I work with middle school and high school students studying Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus, as well as students preparing for exams such as SAT or A-Level mathematics.

About the lesson

My classes focus on building strong problem-solving skills and conceptual clarity rather than memorizing formulas. Sessions are conducted online through Google Meet. I usually share a document containing carefully selected questions and give students a few minutes to think and attempt the problem independently. This encourages logical thinking and helps them develop confidence in approaching unfamiliar problems.

If the student gets stuck, I guide them through the reasoning step by step using a digital whiteboard, explaining the underlying concept, pattern, and strategy. After understanding the method, we solve similar problems so the student can apply the same approach independently.

This structured method helps students recognize mathematical patterns, improve analytical thinking, and become more confident when solving new problems.

My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students studying Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus, as well as students preparing for exams such as SAT or A-Level mathematics.

I also offer a short 15-minute diagnostic session where I evaluate the student’s current understanding and identify key gaps before starting regular lessons. This helps create a focused learning plan tailored to the student’s needs.
