Advance 3D Printing: Thermal Management of electrical Interconnects for Current Densities: This research consists of creating polymer matrix composite thermoplastics and testing these 3D printable materials in order to improve its thermal characteristics. Specifically, experiments are designed to optimize heat dissipation for
electrical interconnects embedded within 3D printed structure while also providing thermal load balancing within 3D printing devices from purely mechanical to electromechanical systems, which is particularly interesting in applications ranging from the 3D printed cube-Sat to 3D printed motors and censors. Thus, optimizing electromechanical functionality into these devices will usher in a new era for large and small scale production through 3D printing.
