About Tammy
I am a certified teacher in NC in Elementary Education K-6, Special Education K-12, and have a Masters in School Administration. I have worked with public school children in Kindergarten to 6th grade within special education and have seen tremendous gains in skills. I have also successfully taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and have successfully tutored college level Statistics.

Instruction should be individualized. While one student may learn division by creating "groups of", another student may learn by "jumping" on a number line. Understanding what the slope of a line means or how to find the area of a hexagon may need to be explained in different ways. My philosophy has always been that if a student is not grasping a concept, it is my job to explain it in a different way; in a way that makes more sense to the child.
