About Emily

I believe that learning music is not only about mastering techniques but also about understanding the cultural contexts and emotional expressions behind the music. I encourage my students to explore different genres, from jazz to blues and rock, respecting each style's unique cultural roots. My approach focuses on problem-solving, where I guide students through challenges by breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts. I always encourage open-mindedness, allowing students to experiment with their sound and style, helping them discover their musical identity. In addition to Guitar, I offer lessons in related subjects like music theory, composition, and ear training, using the same principles. Whether it’s understanding chord progressions, learning improvisation, or practicing rhythm, my goal is to provide a well-rounded music education that fosters creativity and technical skill.

About the lesson

With over 9 years of experience, I specialize in teaching guitar to college students, helping them master techniques in jazz, rock, and blues. My teaching style is engaging and personalized, focusing on building strong fundamentals while exploring creativity. I use a blend of traditional methods and modern approaches, including song learning, improvisation, ear training, and beat-making. I encourage students to develop their unique sound and style while ensuring a solid understanding of music theory. Whether you're a beginner or advanced player, I adapt my lessons to fit your individual needs and musical goals. Let's make learning guitar exciting!
