About Uge
I am an enthusiastic flute tutor with 8 years of experience and a successful record of teaching approximately 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. My teaching philosophy is centred on strong fundamentals and gradual, measurable improvement.
I focus on breath control, posture alignment, tone production, articulation techniques, and finger coordination before moving into advanced repertoire and expressive playing. I carefully assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to design personalised lesson plans.
My unique ability is breaking down complex musical passages into simple, manageable sections that make learning less overwhelming. I provide regular feedback and structured exercises that support consistent progress.
I maintain a calm and encouraging atmosphere where students feel confident asking questions and refining their skills. My aim is to build technically strong and musically expressive flute players who take pride in their growth.

Lessons cover breath control, embouchure, posture, tone production, finger coordination, and rhythm accuracy. I provide step-by-step exercises to help students develop technical mastery and confidence. As students progress, I guide them towards musical expression, including dynamics, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation.
I also teach music theory, sight-reading, scales, and ear training to provide a well-rounded musical education. This combination ensures that students can connect practical skills with theoretical understanding.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson content and pace according to goals and progress. Collaboration is encouraged through discussions on repertoire, interpretation, and performance strategies.
I maintain a positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated. My goal is to create confident, expressive, and technically skilled flute musicians.
