About Shereen
Hello! My name is Shereen, and I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in engineering. I love to teach and have been a tutor throughout my life– I was a peer tutor in high school, specifically in trigonometry, algebra, and calculus, and I was also a virtual teaching associate after my first year of college, teaching precalculus to high school students. I hope to inspire confidence in my students and believe that making mistakes is the only true way to learn, which is something I hope to communicate to those I teach. I am flexible, understanding, and I like to take a calm approach to the learning process– with a level head, we can achieve anything. Let's learn some math!

- Teaching method: provide students with guided notes for content review, walkthrough several example problems together, and take off training wheels (let students work through problems on their own of varying difficulty, review together)
- Typical lesson plan: straightforward concept review, make sure to highlight nuances within theorems and concepts, worksheet with some problems to work through together and some to work through individually, talk through all mistakes & answer all questions
- What sets me apart as a tutor: I am a perfectionist– if a student does not understand something, I will find a new approach to teach it until it makes sense to them. I am understanding and encouraging and believe that making mistakes is the only real way to learn. I reiterate this to my students.
- Who the lessons are for: students in middle/high school mathematics courses, or early college classes, including single variable calculus, multivariable calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and statistics
