About Katie

I am a recent graduate of King's College London; receiving a First Class Honours degree in Law and several prizes for outstanding performance. I obtained the highest grades in my year at A-Level, including an A* in English, and similarly high grades at GCSE level. I am particularly experienced in Shakespeare studies; specialising in Shakespeare and the Law in Jurisprudence in my final year of University, and having attended a prestigious Performing Arts school. Having conducted study-sessions on an ad hoc basis previously, and having mentored students throughout my time at University, I have decided to offer my services as a tutor at an exceptionally low cost following the impact of Covid-19 on students' study.

About the lesson

My tutoring in English is aimed at Years 8-13, with my LNAT tuition aimed at those applying to University. Regarding English, I approach each topic by focusing on the text; together, we will go through each chapter/poem/scene and annotate and discuss the material. I also employ Gilly Salmon's E-tivities model, to ensure that when setting and undertaking exercises students will get the most out of the session. The LNAT tuition model is focussed on setting activities created to test your critical thinking skills, setting essays for the student and going through them together to optimise performance.
Above all, I aim to be a supportive and friendly face to help students achieve their maximum potential; I set-out to ensure my lessons are straightforward, engaging and focused on the individual student.
