About Adam
About Me – Dr. Adam McGhee Hi everyone! I’m Dr. Adam McGhee, and I’m excited to be your psychology instructor. I’ve taught college courses for over a decade and have a PhD in Higher Education from Auburn University, along with graduate training in psychology, including courses in cognition, personality, ethics, and performance evaluation. I’ve taught Intro to Psychology, General Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology at both 2-year and 4-year schools. I’m passionate about making psychology meaningful and easy to understand—whether you're pursuing a career in the field or just want to better understand how people think and behave. I believe learning should be practical, engaging, and maybe even a little fun. Outside of class, I’m a certified drone pilot, amateur radio operator, and mountain bike racer. I also work in distance education, so I know how to support students both in-person and online. Looking forward to learning with you!

️ What We’re Doing in Class
Warm-Up (5 minutes)
We’ll start with a quick review and a question: “How do we learn through experience?”
Mini-Lecture: Classical Conditioning (15 minutes)
You’ll learn about:
Unconditioned vs. conditioned stimuli and responses
Pavlov’s famous experiment
How your brain links things together through learning
Reflection: Real-Life Examples (15 minutes)
Work with a notepad to figure out how classical conditioning shows up in the real world—like ads, school, or even your pets.
Create Your Own Example (15 minutes)
Think up your own fun (or weird) example of classical conditioning. We’ll share a few with the class!
