About Brigitte
English is my middle name! I have been teaching Dutch to non-native speakers for a while now.
I have always had a passion for the English language, from a very early age on. I obtained the Cambridge certificate of Proficiency at young age (and I renewed it in May 2020). I lived in England for several years, made English friends, and worked for an English Marketing agency for a while. More teaching experience: I also provided medical related lessons for a group of secretaries for a while.

I believe that lesson material can only 'land' if you enjoy it. And that means that there is no standard.
Overall structure: how are you, what have you been up to the past week and what is it that keeps you busy. How did you do with homework and practice (why / why not). What are we going to do in todays lesson.
It is my opinion you have to try and taste the language yourself, experience it - and explore where possible. I don't believe in pouring out dry grammar, I rather use audio books, conversation, discussing online dialogues, translating favorite music lyrics. Although...let's keep in mind that grammar is the basis of every language, and that is why I will pay attention to grammar every lesson!

Brigitte heeft mij geholpen met het voorbereiden van mijn Cambridge CAE examen. Dit hebben we door middel van oefen opgaves m.b.t. grammatica, spreekvaardigheid en luistervaardigheid gedaan. Ik maakte van te voren zelfstandig het huiswerk en dit werd tijdens de les samen besproken, zo leerde ik gelijk van de fouten die ik maakte. Brigitte is een super lieve, meegaande en fijne docente! Uiteindelijk hebben de lessen meegeholpen aan een mooi resultaat; het CAE diploma is behaald! Dankjewel Brigitte!
