About Veejay Ored
As part of my commitment to continuous professional growth and excellence in teaching, I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Mathematics Education to further deepen my knowledge of mathematics, pedagogy, and effective instructional practices. I earned my Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, from Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (now Pampanga State University), where I developed a strong foundation in mathematical concepts, problem-solving strategies, and learner-centered teaching methodologies.
As an educator, I believe that mathematics is not simply about memorizing formulas—it is about developing logical thinking, analytical reasoning, and the confidence to solve real-world problems. I strive to make mathematical concepts easier to understand by breaking down complex topics into simple, meaningful, and relatable lessons that match each learner's pace and level of understanding.
I am a patient, logical, and dedicated tutor who values creating a positive and encouraging learning environment. I understand that every learner has unique strengths and challenges, so I tailor my teaching approach to meet individual learning needs. Whether you are strengthening your foundational skills, preparing for quizzes and examinations, or aiming to excel in advanced mathematical topics, I am committed to guiding and supporting you every step of the way.
My goal is not only to help you solve mathematical problems but also to help you develop critical thinking skills, build confidence in your abilities, and cultivate a genuine appreciation for mathematics. Together, we can work toward achieving your academic goals and making mathematics a subject that you understand, enjoy, and succeed in.

CARE Mathematics Tutoring Approach
(C – Connect, A – Assess, R – Reinforce, E – Evaluate)
Phase 1: Connect (Build Rapport and Motivation)
Objective: Establish a positive learning environment and reduce learners' anxiety toward Mathematics.
Activities:
- Welcome and icebreaker activities
- Discuss learners' difficulties and experiences in Mathematics
- Set learning goals together
- Use motivational games or mathematical puzzles
Tutor's Role:
- Encourage participation
- Build confidence
- Create a non-threatening atmosphere
Phase 2: Assess (Identify Learning Gaps)
Objective: Determine learners' strengths and weaknesses.
Activities:
- Short diagnostic quiz
- Oral questioning
- Error analysis of previous quizzes or examinations
- Observe learners' problem-solving strategies
Tutor's Role:
- Identify misconceptions
- Group learners according to competency level
- Determine appropriate interventions
Phase 3: Reinforce (Guided Learning)
Objective: Strengthen mathematical concepts through differentiated instruction.
A. Mini-Lesson (10–15 minutes)
- Review prerequisite concepts
- Explain one concept at a time
- Use visual representations
- Connect concepts to real-life situations
B. Guided Practice
- Solve problems together
- Think-aloud strategy
- Scaffold difficult problems
- Encourage learners to explain their reasoning
C. Collaborative Practice
- Pair tutoring
- Small-group problem solving
- Math games
- Puzzle-solving
- Peer discussion
D. Independent Practice
- Individual exercises
- Timed drills (when appropriate)
- Challenge problems for advanced learners
Phase 4: Evaluate (Monitor Progress)
Objective: Measure learning gains and provide feedback.
Activities:
- Exit ticket (3–5 questions)
- Reflection questions
- Short quizzes
- Oral recitation
- Progress monitoring checklist
Tutor's Role
- Provide immediate feedback
- Celebrate improvements
- Recommend next learning targets
Instructional Strategies:
- Explicit instruction
- Concrete–Representational–Abstract (CRA) approach
- Problem-Based Learning
- Think-Pair-Share
- Error Analysis
- Inquiry-Based Questioning
