About Alysha

Hi! My name is Alysha, and I’m a Psychology graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s conversion degree in Computer Science. I’ve been tutoring for over 3 years and love creating lessons that are engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual way of learning.

As someone with severe dyslexia and mild ADHD myself, I completely understand that learning — especially revision and exam preparation — can sometimes feel exhausting, repetitive or overwhelming. Because of this, I’m passionate about helping students build confidence in a way that feels encouraging, enjoyable and genuinely rewarding rather than stressful or discouraging.

I’ve always believed that learning shouldn’t just be about memorising information to pass an exam. The best learning happens when you actually understand and connect with the subject. That’s one of the reasons I fell in love with psychology during my A-Levels. It helped me understand people better, improve my communication and confidence, and even understand myself more clearly.

What I love most about psychology is how relevant it is to everyday life. It helps us understand how people think, behave, communicate, learn and form relationships. I try to bring that same sense of curiosity and real-world connection into my lessons so that sessions feel interesting, interactive and memorable rather than just another lecture.

I also have experience supporting students with ADHD and dyslexia, so creating a patient, calm and supportive learning environment is incredibly important to me. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace without feeling judged or pressured.

Whether your goal is improving grades, preparing for exams or simply gaining more confidence in the subject, I’ll always do my best to make learning feel more approachable, enjoyable and empowering.

About the lesson

These lessons will be held on Zoom or Google Classroom depending on your availability.
Each lesson will be fun, informative and engaging. I will always relate anything taught to a student's interests to ensure maximum engagement and understanding. The first lesson after meeting you will include a personalised learning assessment plus study plan to get started! At the beginning of each lesson, there will be a fun exercise that reviews the previous lesson's content, whether that be a worksheet (emailed before 24 hours before lesson), a mini educational game or a mini quiz making sure that all content is continuously remembered in preparation for exams. Each student will be given a small article to read up on to keep their knowledge relevant and understanding conceptual.
Typically a lesson will be an hour to an hour and a half long but can be longer upon request.
I’ve had 3 years of experience as a tutor specialising in students with ADHD and Dyslexia. I have a 2:1 bachelor's in Psychology.
My lessons are typically for A level and higher students, age around 17 to 20
