About Analou

Hi, I'm Analou! I'm a licensed math teacher with over 10 years of classroom and tutoring experience, plus a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering that shapes how I explain math: logically, visually, and step-by-step. I've taught in traditional classrooms with 240+ students at a time, and I currently tutor middle schoolers virtually through a structured math program, so I know how to meet a student exactly where they are, not where the textbook assumes they should be.

What sets me apart is my focus on diagnosing why a student is stuck — not just re-teaching the same explanation louder. I catch foundational gaps in number sense, integer operations, and algebraic thinking before they snowball into bigger struggles in Algebra 1 or Geometry. About the lesson

My sessions are built around three things: diagnosis, clarity, and practice.

Diagnosis first: I start by figuring out exactly where a student's understanding breaks down. Often, it's not the current topic but a gap from a previous grade.

Visual, conceptual teaching: I use simple visual frameworks and step-by-step processes (not just memorized tricks) so students understand the why behind operations like integer rules and algebraic expressions—understanding that sticks past the test.

Aligned to US standards: Lessons are aligned to Common Core and TEKS expectations for grades 6-9, covering pre-algebra, Algebra 1 foundations, and early geometry.

Consistent practice with feedback: Each session includes guided practice and a quick progress check, so both the student and parent know where things stand.

I tailor pacing to the student. Some may need review and confidence-building, while others are ready to move fast into more advanced material.

I offer a free first lesson so you and your student can see how I teach before committing to anything. There's no pressure, just a good fit.
