About Zachary
Hi, I'm Zach, a licensed Special Education and Elementary Education teacher with over 8 years of experience helping students become confident, skilled readers. As a Wilson Reading System-trained tutor, I specialize in working with children who face reading challenges, including dyslexia, by using proven, multi-sensory techniques that make learning to read engaging and effective.
Having struggled with a reading disability myself, I deeply understand how difficult it can be to build strong reading skills. That’s why I’m passionate about creating a compassionate, supportive, and interactive learning environment where every student feels empowered to succeed. My approach is patient, personalized, and focused on building both skill and confidence—one step at a time.
I’m here to help your child unlock their full potential in reading, and together, we’ll celebrate every success along the way!

Unlock Your Child’s Potential with Expert Reading Tutoring!
Are you looking for personalized, effective reading support for your child? As a licensed Special Education Teacher with a Master’s Degree in Special Education and over 8 years of experience, I specialize in helping students build strong foundational reading skills. My approach is rooted in Wilson Reading System, an evidence-based, multi-sensory method designed to improve decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
What Makes My Tutoring Unique?
- Customized Instruction: Each child is unique, and I tailor my lessons to meet your child’s specific needs and learning style. Whether your child is struggling with letter-sound relationships, fluency, or reading comprehension, I create a supportive, personalized learning plan that fosters confidence and success.
- Wilson Reading System: As a trained Wilson tutor, I use this proven, systematic program to help struggling readers, especially those with dyslexia or learning challenges. Wilson’s multi-sensory techniques engage the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic senses, making learning to read both fun and effective.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-Up: We begin with a brief review of previously learned concepts to build confidence and solidify foundational skills.
2. New Skill Focus: Each lesson introduces new phonetic concepts, sight words, and decoding strategies using structured activities that reinforce the material.
3. Interactive Practice: Students actively participate through writing, reading aloud, and word-building exercises to reinforce learning.
4. Review & Reinforcement: At the end of each session, we review what was learned, providing practice exercises for the next lesson.
What Sets Me Apart:
- Experience and Education: With a Master’s in Special Education and years of hands-on experience in the classroom, I have the knowledge and expertise to effectively address a wide range of learning challenges.
- Passionate and Patient: I understand that every child learns differently. My patient and empathetic approach helps students feel supported while gaining the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
- Focused on Results: My goal is to make your child not just a better reader, but a more confident learner. I provide clear progress updates and adjust teaching strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
Who Are My Lessons For?
- Students in Elementary School (grades K-6) who are struggling with foundational reading skills
- Children with dyslexia or other reading challenges
- Kids who need extra support and practice to improve reading fluency and comprehension
