About Paul
I have been working with teenagers since 1990. That was even before I graduated with a Bachelor of Music. I started my career as a youth pastor. I continued as a substitute teacher and running a youth activity center. I moved from there to other positions, but never lost my love for teenagers and teaching. In 2017 I moved to teaching full-time, and added pastoring to my days while still teaching as a para-professional in 2018. I've raised four boys, one of whom is now a teacher, too. While I don't have a teaching certification, I am a constant learner and reader, and have made history - and the lessons we can learn from history - one of my primary foci. The other is Bible, morality, and how they interact with the history of the U.S.A and our world.

My favorite part of teaching history is showing how history applies to our lives today. I want to help middle and high school students not only succeed in their history classes, but also learn the lessons, going deeper than just dates, names, and locations. My goal is not to take the place of your teacher, but help you understand what they are looking for, succeed at your class, and then learn the deeper points of what history is trying to teach us about life. I can help with U.S. history through 1945, as well as the history of the Bible. I have over 20 years working with teenagers in a variety of settings, from church to schools. I've been a teacher, a para-educator, and am currently a pastor.
