About Ruth
I'm Ruth, a Management and Economics graduate from the University of British Columbia and a recipient of the Karen McKellin International Leaders of Tomorrow Award, a full-tuition scholarship recognizing academic excellence and leadership.
I tutor Math, English, and Economics with a focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorize them. In Economics, I've completed university-level courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, international finance, labor economics, and financial derivatives. For Math, I studied Higher Level Mathematics in the IB Diploma Programme and continued taking quantitative courses at UBC, strengthening my skills in algebra, calculus, statistics, and data analysis.
Alongside my academic background, I've worked in professional roles where clear communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving were essential. I've also taught English to underprivileged students, which taught me how to explain ideas in simple, engaging ways and adapt lessons to different learning styles.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students build confidence, develop strong problem-solving skills, and become independent learners—whether they're preparing for exams, improving grades, or learning something new.
