I am extremely impressed by the many tools she has at her disposal to stimulate learning and to engage me in such a way that I'm constantly practising in between lessons. In addition to providing a structured approach to learning, and the added value of the history and cultural aspects of the language she brings to the lessons, she is also able to identify the best way to engage a student. With me, it was through singing. It does help that she is multi-talented and can sing beautifully too. Even more importantly, she is able to demonstrate to me (you need to take lessons from her to see what I mean), how to pronounce those difficult phonemes. So, if you had ever struggled to learn to speak mandarin or are still struggling, or simply if you fancy learning a new language, you need to give Darcy a try. You won't regret it.

Marc is such a passionate and dedicated learner with great motivation, and a glutton for both the language and the culture! Witnessing his steadfast progress in this fun language learning journey together for around 8 months, I myself got inspired a lot.
I love when reporting his new language using experience in daily life , from saying a simple 'Hi' to a Chinese to ordering his own food in Mandarin confidently, the excitement on his face and in his voice radiances an infectious enthusiasm.

Darcy is an amazing teacher. I am 8 weeks in to my lessons and now I've made massive improvements. In China I could order my own takeaway coffee and some food and the locals were shocked - it was amazing.

She breaks things down in to easily digestible content and relates them to real world examples. Her lessons are structured. Mostly importantly the lessons are fun. Darcy is fun to learn from. Whether in person or online, her lessons are really good.

For me personally the hardest part of Mandarin was learning how to properly pronounce certain tones but what helped me was learning how to say them in a phonetic way via English which is an amazing tailored experience for me.

I really lucked out learning from Darcy and I hope I can learn from her for a long time until I'm fluent!
