My teaching is focus on practical application of knowledge. I usually first presents new concepts and theories to students and then encourage them to apply the knowledge into practice. For example, in my past coding class, I demonstrated how to code in front of class and then assign a task to let them solve.

I like to use different interesting ways to teach, like drawing, graphing and watching videos. I will give the student a specific scenario, let him/her imagine and describe what is happening. Pictures are very helpful, I will use pictures to let the student express what he/she sees and then I'll know the student's language level and thus give him/her different methods to improve.
I always believe that learning comes from life. We need build the language environment. I will use the cards with pictures and words to make you easily remember the pronunciations and meanings of the words. After you learn the certain amount of words, the simple sentences are not difficult any more. The different person has different personality.
My teaching contents are various based on the language level of students. For people who just starts to learn, I will focus more on grammar. And for those who have learned Chinese, I prefer to teach my class with different topics each time.
I am especially interested in learning languages. I grew up in a bilingual family and I have the gift to distinguish the minor difference between different languages. It proves that by noticing the differences help non-native speakers pronounce much better! The most funny thing I found is that, Cantonese has nine different tones while Mandarin has five.

A typical class would be the student bring me the translation work she/he did and we go over it together, alongside with doing so, we diverge to new words and expressions.
