About Uvini Hasara

I chose my career as a lecturer in mathematics and IT as these are my strongest pursuits. As a part time, I have been teaching Junior Cert and Leaving Cert mathematics and Edexcel ICT modules for grade 6 and upwards. All my students so far improved from C’s to A’s and B’s in their term exams and excelled extremely well in the state exams as well. I’m a kind and passionate person who loves children and teaching.

About the lesson

I create a custom lesson plan for every student based on their level of understanding. I give out a homework tutorial after every session and discuss answers in the next class, and I also hand over my step-by-step answer manual so that they know the marking criteria and the flow.

I use an iPad to write and mark pointers on the digital textbooks during explanations and whiteboard apps to work out the examples, so I can share the screen live. All my students pointed out that this is clearer and more effective than pointing a camera on paper/physical whiteboard. In parallel, I use digital resources to make the lesson interactive and effective.

Petr shows a strong worth ethic, willingness to learn and an extremely positive attitude throughout all his lessons. He is always up for a challenge with past exam questions, mock exam questions and I see a huge improvement in his ability to adapt into new methods and his confidence in math has also improved drastically. It’s nothing but an absolute pleasure to teach Petr, it’s guaranteed that he will continue to excel in math and beyond.
