I only teach physics and have a very different teaching style.
I employ the ISEE technique in solving challenging problems. ISEE - 1. IDENTIFY - First you understand the physics behind the problem before launching straight into the mathematics. List known and unknown variables. Recall physics laws, principles and Concepts.
2. SET UP-Here, you sketch a diagram (e.g path of motion, free body diagram, vector-diagram). Choose and state equations, formulas and sign conventions.
3. EXECUTE - Solve for the unknowns
4. EVALUATE- You check your solution for units, magnitude and use common sense as well. When you are learning concepts, you can use this stage to understand the physics going on and what you make of it.

However, if you want to finish your course quickly, then I am not the guy for it. Without foundation, mastery of physics is impossible.
