About Kiana

I am a Math and Reading Aide at an elementary school, teaching kinder to 5th grade how to read,comprehend, basic math, and to help where they might struggle in some places. I want to help kids get the help they need to excel in something they might actually love like math or reading.

About the lesson

What I teach or will try to approach if your child needs help in math or reading is see where they struggle and go based off that. If they struggle in number sense or just adding 2 digit by 2 digit problems i'll create a lesson on place value first then show them how to do the equation. If they struggle with fluency in reading I would have them everyday time themselves on a short passage and see how far they can get everyday until they can read the whole story without any minor hiccups. My lessons would be for kids who are struggling in school and need a boost or a little push to get them right on track. What sets me apart from other tutors is I was a kid who needed help in school and didn't necessarily get the help I needed but I want to be the help that these kids need.
