About Madeline

I've taught in public schools for almost 4 years. From as far north as Byron, Michigan to the Southeast Detroit, Michigan. My certificate for teaching is valid through 2023. I have had all the necessary PD to renew the certificate as well. I've taken most interest in PD opportunities tha teach me new ways to approach topics, such as bringing nutella into geology class or pumpkin carving into math.

I have had the pleasure of working one on one in many settings and do enjoy the success in the moment. As a tutor I strive to ensure you, the student, will get what you need to feel confident in all your classes. I will work with you so that the confidence you build with me stays with you when our sessions are complete.

About the lesson

To all students I offer the knowledge I've gained as a tutor in past positions, from simple math to algebra 2, or flashcards to specific study skills and test-taking methods.
I thoroughly enjoy meeting goals/ teaching lessons with biology or geology at the forefront. We can use the 5 E approach or CER approach to help us stay organized.
I have taught elementary mathmatics and high school algebra. I would be delighted to help students of all ages grasp the necessary skills to feel confident in -and maybe even enjoy- math class.

Please feel free to ask me any questions before our first session. I prefer 35-45 minute sessions in order to hit one concept at a time and not overload our trains of thought. Also, as an experienced teacher, I've come to find that it's hard to sit and focus for longer than 45-50 minutes at any one time.
If you as the student want more than 45 minutes, we can do that.
I can tutor online or in person.
