About Jake
I’m a qualified math educator and curriculum designer with years of experience helping students build real understanding and confidence in their skills. I take a clear, structured approach to teaching, breaking concepts down in a way that feels intuitive and manageable. Students appreciate my patience, my ability to explain ideas from multiple angles, and the steady support I offer as they work through challenges. I’ve worked with learners at many levels, from middle school through early college, as well as adults returning to math after time away. No matter the starting point, I create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking the time they need to learn. My goal is always the same: to help each student develop strong reasoning skills, genuine confidence, and a solid foundation they can rely on long after our lessons.

I teach math by breaking ideas down clearly and helping students understand the “why” behind each step. My lessons are inquiry‑based, so students learn to reason through problems rather than memorize procedures. I use examples, visual models, and guided questions to build confidence and independence.
A typical session starts with identifying where the student is getting stuck, working through a few problems together, and then shifting to independent practice with feedback. Students leave each lesson with clearer understanding and strategies they can use on their own.
What sets me apart is my background in curriculum design and my ability to explain complex ideas in a way that feels intuitive. I’m patient, structured, and focused on helping students build durable skills, not quick fixes.
My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, and early college students, as well as adults returning to math who want clear, supportive, concept‑driven instruction.
