I am a biology graduate with a special focus in mathematics. I have been tutoring math for four years to students in 8th grade up through college algebra. In addition to significantly improved grades, my students have demonstrated a much deeper understanding of the material.

I base my teaching style on getting students to understand math, not just work problems. When students can see the "why" behind math concepts, they have a much broader understanding of each problem and will be able to solve problems that they may have never seen before. Math builds, so having students understand the foundation for problems allows them to put together that knowledge when working math problems in the future.
