About Sabrina
As a dedicated math tutor with two years of experience, I’m currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Math and Computer Science at Amherst College. I combine strong subject expertise with a clear, approachable teaching style that helps students feel both capable and supported. Having recently completed high school myself, my lessons are reflective of the most recent curriculum, providing insight into current curricula and test formats, from classroom math to standardized test work. I work with a wide range of students; from those aiming to advance beyond grade level to those strengthening foundational skills. I tailor each session to individual needs. My goal is not only to improve grades but to build confidence, grow professional relationships, and problem-solving skills that students carry into every subject.

I focus on confidence-building strategies and clarity in math by breaking down complex ideas, using visual aids, and connecting concepts to relevant real-life examples. My sessions emphasize understanding over memorization. I encourage students to recognize patterns and relationships in math that connect to earlier lessons, future coursework, and real-world contexts.
A typical lesson plan, typically one-hour, includes necessary review, explanation of new concepts along with guided practice.
Because I’ve recently navigated standardized tests as well as the same classes and exams, I bring firsthand insight into today’s math courses and effective test-taking strategies. I also assist students in growing in their professional relationships with teachers.
I work with middle and high school students at all levels. I teach algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and college level calculus. Whether a student wants to get ahead or needs help catching up, I tailor each lesson to meet them where they are.

Sabrina completely turned around my grade in AP AB Calculus! Before working with Sabrina, I was really struggling with the way my teacher introduced concepts in this class. Sabrina has an intuitive understanding of math and communicates in a way that is easy to understand. She also helped me approach problems from different angles so that I felt more confident in my exams.
