Hello! I’m Harvey, a maths tutor who believes anyone can do well in maths with the right support.

I studied Mathematics at Covenant University. I work as a Senior Data Analyst. I have 2 years of experience teaching and tutoring maths. Over the years I’ve seen how often students lose confidence because one topic wasn’t explained clearly. Once that gap is filled, their attitude to maths changes completely.

That’s why I love teaching. Few things are more rewarding than watching a student go from “I’m just bad at maths” to solving problems on their own and enjoying it. I know maths can feel stressful, especially before exams, so I create a calm, patient and encouraging space where questions are always welcome.

I’m reliable, well-prepared and committed to every student’s progress. Each lesson is tailored to your needs, and I keep track of your progress so we’re always working towards your goals.

I look forward to helping you build your skills and your confidence in maths!

About the lesson

My aim is simply to help you understand maths, not just memorise it. Every lesson starts with where you are now. In our first session I find out which topics feel solid and which ones cause stress. Then I build a plan around your goals, whether that’s passing an exam, catching up in class or getting more confident.

I will explain each idea step by step with clear examples. Then you try similar problems while I guide you. I put the “why” behind each method first, because once that clicks, the formulae make sense and stick. I use worked examples, practice questions, past exam papers and real-life applications. I also give short exercises between lessons so your progress continues outside our sessions. Mistakes are welcome. They show me exactly what to work on next.

Lessons usually last 1 hour. Longer 1.5-hour sessions are available for exam preparation or intensive revision.

I hold a degree in Mathematics. I have two years of experience tutoring maths. I’m patient and encouraging, and I adapt to each student’s pace and learning style.

I teach primary, secondary, GCSE, or A-Level learners, from complete beginners to advanced students aiming for top grades. Topics include arithmetic, fractions, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics. Lessons are available online.

Whatever your level, together we’ll make maths clear, manageable and even enjoyable!
