About Woo
Hi! I am currently a college and club soccer coach with 3 years of mathematics teaching and tutoring experience at the high school level for a Private Boarding School in upstate New York. During my time there, I taught 3 sections of Algebra II and also tutored junior winter olympic athletes while they trained for qualifier events. I truly enjoyed working with and helping the students there and am looking to continue this work! My background is Korean, which the language I am proficient in, but I have grown up in the US my entire life. I've spent time living in Utah, Wisconsin, Ohio, New York and now Colorado, and I have loved experiencing the different areas and cultures across the States! I do truly believe that these experiences have helped in my teaching and how I connect with each student to help inspire and motivate them to reach their goals, but obviously in this case... with math :) I look forward to hopefully getting to meet and work with you!

Lessons with me will be fully online via Zoom or whichever service works easiest for the student. The purpose of these sessions will mainly be to provide help and answer any questions the student has with their current topics being covered in school. We will work to deepen their understanding of the material by working through their homework as well as extra practice problems step by step, and making sure the student knows how and why each step is necessary in the process of solving each problem. I will also use real world life examples and connections when relevant in order to both help with understanding and highlight the importance of certain topics. The ultimate goal will be to get the student's knowledge of the material to a level where they won't have to rely on memorization as preparation for tests and quizzes, but will have proper understanding and skills to get through any problem.
In our sessions, I will use my computer and connect my IPad to use the screen share feature in order to show visuals of the steps as we work through the problems.
These sessions are available to students at the high school level.
