About Nora

My love for mathematics began when I discovered how rewarding it felt to understand a concept that once seemed confusing or intimidating. That feeling inspired me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematical Sciences and later to dedicate my career to helping students develop confidence through clarity and steady support. Over my 10 years of teaching experience, I’ve guided learners of all ages—from elementary school math to middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math—helping them build strong foundations and strong problem-solving habits. My teaching philosophy centers on patience, encouragement, and meaningful explanation. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas without fear of judgment. To support this, I use a variety of teaching methods, including diagrams, real-life parallels, step-by-step reasoning, and structured practice that gently leads students toward deeper understanding. Every learner has a unique rhythm, and I adapt each lesson so that progress feels natural and confidence grows steadily. Outside of teaching, I regularly explore mathematical writing, study new educational strategies, and develop personalized learning materials that make complex topics simpler for students. Helping learners transform uncertainty into confidence is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work, and I am committed to supporting each student with warmth, structure, and motivation as they grow in their mathematical journey.

Mathematics becomes far more enjoyable when students understand how each topic connects logically rather than seeing it as a list of formulas. My lessons begin with the essential foundations found in elementary school math, including number operations, visual models, early problem-solving, and pattern recognition. By using simple explanations, gentle pacing, and relatable examples, I help learners build strong confidence as they begin exploring mathematical thinking. This early understanding becomes the base upon which they can comfortably grow into more advanced topics.

As students move into middle school math, we begin developing structured reasoning through algebra, multi-step arithmetic, equations, integers, ratios, and introductory geometry. I guide learners with diagrams, step-by-step breakdowns, and repeated practice to ensure clarity and comfort. Students also learn how to analyze questions, compare solution methods, and apply logic in a calm, organized way. As we build toward higher challenges, I integrate SAT math strategies such as time management, error analysis, and multi-concept reasoning.

Advanced students explore deeper algebraic relationships, geometric logic, functions, data interpretation, and mathematical modeling. Lessons include real-world applications that help learners appreciate how mathematics shapes decisions, structures, and reasoning in everyday life. Throughout the journey, I maintain a patient, supportive environment where students feel motivated and empowered to trust their mathematical abilities.
