About Michael
I am a recently retired engineer and scientist with a degree in mathematics. Over the last 2 decades, I have regularly mentored and tutored entry-level employees fresh out of university. These new recruits ultimately developed into solid engineers and mentors in their own rights.
I worked as a data processing engineer and systems engineer in the fields of remote sensing (radar, sonar, lidar...) and wireless digital communications for nearly 30 years. These fields continually exercised my skills in physics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, probability and statistics.
I know how to interact with young adults to instill understanding of subtle and complex mathematical concepts. I was tutor and mentor to my son and his friends throughout their middle, junior and high school school years most of those, including my son, are now new university students.

As a retired professional engineer and mathematician, I am offering science, mathematics and logic tutoring and lessons to students at levels from middle school through university undergraduates.
My teaching method is example based. Each tutorial lesson is grounded in a simplified real-life example taken from my career or is customized to the students' particular needs as taken from their textbooks and other course material. I strive to provide an understanding of how to solve problems and derive formulas so that students can apply what they learn to other problems and derivations. Students will also learn how to check their results using reciprocal operators and unit analysis.
