About Maria

I was born and raised in Mallorca, Spain, completing high school education there. I speak Catalan, Spanish and English.

From 2018 to 2020 I taught science, maths and technical drawing to students aged 8yo to 18yo, but I stopped tutoring when I moved to Glasgow in autumn 2020. However, I enjoyed my tutoring period so much that I became very passionate about education and now I wish to become a lecturer in the far future.

Currently, I am an undergraduate maths and astronomy student wishing to help students from a wide range of skills levels to thrive and enjoy learning as much as I do :)

About the lesson

My name is Maria, nice to meet you. I am a very passionate tutor that used to teach maths and physics to a wide range of students back in Spain from 2018 to 2020.

Now offering tutoring in Glasgow, I always try to tailor my lessons to the student as best I can, focusing on learning what best works for you and your feedback. I have experience working with kids and teenagers from 8 to 18 yo, but I can also adapt lessons and resources to adults, offering a wide range of levels. Each session is tailored to your needs and current skill level, and divided into the following teaching styles:

- Theory and explanation based lectures
- Exercise and exam-solving sessions.
- Exam and university entry preparation.
- Revision from topics covered in school.

I want my students to feel comfortable and be able to enjoy the learning process in a friendly environment but also be able to excel and grow confident in maths. My approach is to teach the intuition and logic of each problem and avoid formula-memorisation.

After each session, I give a short feedback report on performance and homework so that students can revise and practise in between sessions. If the student is 16 or younger I offer such reports to parents so they can follow their kid's progress.
